Privacy Policy

A small-data app for small children.

This policy explains how HyePop handles information when a parent or child uses the iPhone or iPad app.

Our approach

HyePop is designed for children ages 2–5. We minimize data by keeping letter play offline and by avoiding accounts, behavioral analytics, cross-app tracking, social features, and user-generated content. HyePop shows a small contextual banner advertisement on non-gameplay screens, described in full below; a one-time parent-gated purchase removes it permanently.

Information HyePop does not request

  • No child name, birthday, email address, or profile.
  • No precise or approximate location.
  • No contacts, photos, camera, or microphone access.
  • No chat, messaging, uploads, or public sharing.
  • No cross-app tracking, no advertising identifier (IDFA), and no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
  • No behavioral or interest-based advertising profile for any child or device.

Information stored on the device

HyePop may save settings and simple gameplay information—such as language, sound, balloon speed, learning-mode preferences, and local scores—using Apple’s on-device storage. This information is not used to identify a child and is not sent to 621 Labs LLC. A parent can reset gameplay information from the parent area.

Advertising

HyePop displays a small banner advertisement on non-gameplay screens (the welcome screen and the game/place selection screens). Ads never appear during letter play, and HyePop contains no video ads, no rewarded ads, no interstitials, and no ads that interrupt a child mid-activity.

Advertising in HyePop is contextual only. Ads are selected based on the app they appear in — a children’s educational game — and never on anything about the person using the device. HyePop does not build an advertising profile, does not read or transmit the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt, and does not permit interest-based or behavioral targeting.

To deliver any advertisement, an advertising provider necessarily receives limited technical information such as an IP address, device type, and coarse country. We require that this information be used only to serve and measure a contextual ad, and not to profile, track, or identify a child. Creatives are subject to human review for age-appropriateness.

HyePop’s advertising provider is Google AdMob. Every ad request HyePop makes is tagged for child-directed treatment under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and for users under the age of consent, which Google states disables personalized and remarketing ads and requests to third-party ad vendors for that request. See Google’s documentation on child-directed ad requests and Google’s Privacy Policy. HyePop adds no other ad network to AdMob — no mediation partner is configured, so no ad source beyond Google’s own inventory can ever serve.

A parent can remove advertising permanently with the one-time purchase described below. Once that purchase is active, no ad request is made at all.

Purchases and third-party services

HyePop offers one optional, non-consumable purchase — removing advertising permanently — available only behind the parental gate. Apple processes the transaction; 621 Labs LLC never receives or stores payment card details.

HyePop uses RevenueCat solely to confirm purchase status across a family’s devices. RevenueCat processes an anonymous app user identifier and purchase history for that purpose only. HyePop sends RevenueCat no personal information, no account, and no attributes about the person using the app, and does not use purchase information for advertising or tracking.

Apple’s, RevenueCat’s, and the advertising provider’s independent privacy practices apply to their own services. HyePop will update this policy and its App Store privacy disclosures if the shipped service list changes.

Children’s privacy

HyePop does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal information for letter play, for advertising, or for purchases, we do not believe verifiable parental consent is required under COPPA — there is no personal information to consent to. A child can use every core feature without providing any.

External links, support, and purchasing controls are placed behind a parental gate. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Data sharing, sale, and retention

HyePop does not sell personal information and does not share children’s personal information for advertising. Contextual ad serving, described above, is not a sale or a share of personal information for targeted advertising. On-device preferences remain until a parent resets the app or deletes it. Purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy when HyePop’s features or legal requirements change. The current date will appear at the top of this page. Material changes affecting children’s information will be addressed before the changed feature is released.
